About Us

Based in Portland, Oregon, Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine is a restaurant and cocktail bar with more than 21 years of experience in the business. Since its beginnings in October of 2000, we have been a sensation among Thai enthusiasts and skeptics alike.  We offer the best entrees with a distinct Southeast Asian flair at the most affordable prices in the Northwest.

Our Menu

A special weekday lunch menu accommodates busy customers with their favorite dishes or combination plates. An exceptional dinner menu makes for an exciting night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Our restaurant has been called exquisite and a dining delight among regulars, as well as “flashy, lively, and especially tasty” by food critics from the Oregonian™.

Our Owner

Owner Supree (Boos) Smithynuntha is a self-taught chef. Growing up in Bangkok, Thailand, he learned to cook Thai food from family recipes. Supree stayed in Thailand for 23 years and has been living in the United States after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. Supree's parents are part Chinese, which influenced the exotic combination of flavors in the food at the restaurant.
